WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?
Porcelain veneers are thin, semi-translucent, custom made laminates that are permanently bonded to your teeth. They are crafted from tooth-colored, high-tech materials to portray a natural, bright smile.
They are used to improve dental conditions involving the front teeth, including:
-Spaces between teeth -Broken or chipped teeth -Unsightly, stained fillings -Crooked teeth
ADVANTAGES OF VENEERS
There are many benefits and advantages to having porcelain veneers placed on your teeth:
-Two appointment procedure -Conservative tooth preparation -Biocompatible material -A healthy "natural" look
HOW ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS DONE?
At the first appointment the teeth are prepared for the veneers and an impression is taken. The impression is then sent to a lab where each porcelain veneer is custom made. Beautiful temporaries are fabricated to simulate your new smile so you can expect to leave the first appointment looking better than when you came in. At the second appointment the veneers are permanently adhered to the natural teeth.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Veneers can last indefinitely, depending on how well they are taken care of by the patient. Because veneers are stronger than simple bonding, they are also more resistant to stains and chipping. You must maintain regular oral hygiene at home, and visit us for routine cleanings and exams. This is to ensure that your new veneers will look as good as new. Oral habits that damage natural teeth such as nail biting or chewing on hard objects can damage your new veneers. Once veneers are applied, just treat them like natural teeth. They look great and are extremely durable.
TOOTH WHITENING PROCEDURES CAN HELP:
- Lighten coffee-stained teeth - Remove cigarette and tobacco stains - Correct yellowing in teeth due to aging
CHOICES FOR WHITER TEETH
In-office Power Bleaching: We use the ZOOM! Whitening System(As seen on ABC's Extreme Makeover. A gel is applied to the teeth and activated with the ZOOM light. Fantastic results may be achieved in ONE visit!
At-Home Dentist-supervised Whitening: Custom fit trays are made from custom impressions of your teeth and gums. A whitening kit is then supplied containing the appropriate concentrations for the best result for your situation.
Porcelain crowns are strong, long-lasting and absolutely stunning in their recreation of natural teeth. And the color is so natural, you'll have a very difficult time telling these from your original teeth...and thanks to the latest technology, our high-speed x-rays can show, in detail, whatīs happening underneath these beautiful materials - unlike gold crowns where we had to wait for them to decay to the point where we could see them.
We like composite/resin fillings for their natural appearance and the near perfect color match we can get with your teeth.
In this photograph the back two teeth used to be filled with dark silver-mercury fillings and we replaced them with these beautiful bonded restorations.
How can you replace missing teeth without having to wear removable partials or dentures? One way is by using dental implants.
These wonders of modern dentistry are carefully placed where your original tooth used to be. Itīs fairly quick to do and rarely uncomfortable. Then, after a short healing period, a beautiful new replacement tooth is attached to the implant. Things you used to be able to do with your natural teeth can be done again with implants!
Are you tired of your removable partial dentures? Ever thought about how great it would be to have your teeth back again?
Bridges will do just that! Brush them, floss them and take care of them just like your natural teeth.... and get ready for that steak dinner!!
If a removable partial denture is the best alternative for you, Precision Partials provide a rock-solid fit that is extremely long-lasting and kind to the surrounding teeth and gums.
